The most consistent role in my professional life is that of a PROBLEM SOLVER. Regardless of department, organization, rank, or longevity - I have always been asked to tackle hard questions, confusing contexts, and challenging problems. But apart from what I do, I am most inspired by HOW problems are solved and WHO to solve them with. At my core, I am a deeply relational person who is passionate and cheerful, albeit with a healthy dose of pragmatism. I am a student of leadership effectiveness and how to inspire people to action. And I am excited - not discouraged - to explore the complexities of life, always seeking to understand context and nuance. 

 

My career journey has afforded me a beautiful diversity of experiences and roles. This includes stints in strategic planning, administration, marketing, sales, governance, communications, change management, innovation, monitoring and evaluation, and product development. Much of my career has been spent in the international development and disaster relief sector, where I have enjoyed traveling and engaging with people from all over the world. But I’ve also worked in varying capacities in the technology, secondary education, philanthropy, and agency industries. Wherever I go and whatever project I am working on, I am emphatic about representing the cultural values of the organization and respecting the needs and behaviors of all stakeholders. People matter. 

 

Personally, I am a person of faith who is compelled to empathy and love because of my beliefs. I am a family man without exception, blessed to do life with my amazing wife and three children. Living in Phoenix since 2008, I am a lifelong New England Patriots fan, a fledgling golfer, and a sucker for good history documentaries. In the summer, you’ll find me and my family spending as much time as possible on the beaches of Lake Michigan. Otherwise, I’ll be coaching my kids' sports teams and going on walks with my wife.
